I realised that I had never actually posted the bridesmaids' dresses. What about this little beauty? And how about you all dye your hair black to match? K Thx
So starting as I mean to go on for 2010 I thought I would post my first bridezilla moment. All bridemaids that are 20+ years old WILL be wearing these...
Ok so I'm a day too early but my new years resolution is to update the blog....at least weekly. Instead of saving things I like to my wedding folder I promise to post them on here, no matter how insignificant.
Here are some beautiful potential bridesmaiddresses in a very cute 50s style. Imagine the black one with a pink petticoat and peep-toe heels! Possible Polyvore set to follow...
Just StumbledUpon this gallery of wedding hairstyles. Some of them are pretty, and some of them are pretty chavvy, which I know is a look Helen enjoys.
I gave the blog a bit of a makeover, as the Tiffany blue theme has been abandoned. (I saved the banner, though, just in case Helen changes her mind again!)
I think this is probably just about one of the cutest ideas ever. These come with personalised name cards, so that would be the place settings sorted. If shipping isn't too expensive, I think these would be amazing (and the temporary tattoos could be threaded onto the ribbon as well).
Check out these origami blossom centrepieces. I think these would look amazing if we made them pink and black, but inverted it by spray painting the branches pink and doing the blossoms in black. Something a bit different.
This website makes personalised ribbon, and you can choose the colours, font and length you need. I think hot pink ribbon with black text looks cool, and for 7mm wide ribbon, it's only 79p a metre - bargain!
Possibly some of the coolest wedding invitations ever. These are supposed to look like a boxing poster and they have perforated response sections. And these are awesome retro-tastic nonsense. Very cool.
This is something we should look at, when it's available. It's a free online course in designing wedding invitations yourself, with templates etc that look just like what Hel's been describing.
EDIT: I've signed up, so will get access when the course opens!
I was looking through one of the wedding magazines that have started to take over my life and I really liked this photographer! I've emailed and his prices aren't too bad.....really. I just LOVE his photos.
OK guys here are some photos. If you go here, then weddings then go to the Hay Forbes album then you should see what the place looks like. They are getting married in the same room we will be. This was one of the photographers who we met at the wedding fair, I liked how he's managed to get round the fact that it's obviously raining outside. Thoughts?
I've wanted to go to the paper mill at Dyce for years. Now I may finally get my wish. They run this class where you make one card and then either take all the components for your wedding stationery home, or come back with helpers and make them all under supervision.
The wedding fair was muchos fun and we saw lots of lovely things as well as lots of, what's the word, oh yes..shite. Anyway one of the things we saw and loved was this place after seeing so many cakes that just looked horrible and really inedible it was great to see something that you just wanted to eat. Yup these cakes are all covered in CHOCOLATE!
Since this blog has been a little quiet of late I thought I would add. Garry, I think I would like a ceremony just like this....thank you Ignore the lesbian thing.
I have just had a quick wee look for possible venues, and these are ones I have found which I reckon look nice (havent looked at prices or anything important - these have been selected on a quick browse of photographs alone, but feel free to peruse at your leisure!)
Just for info, you can also get married at Glenlivet Distillery, in the Malt Barn which is UBER nice, and Balvenie Castle can also be used for weddings too!
